Three Augustinians Ordained Deacons

Three men made one more step closer to becoming ordained Augustinian Priests:  Ordination to the Diaconate.  This step is step 8 of 9 in our 9 Steps in the Augustinian Formation Process.

After solemn vows, a friar may then be ordained to the Diaconate. As transitional deacons, they often begin preaching the Gospel during the Mass, administering the sacrament of Baptism, and other activities to help prepare them for the ordination to the priesthood.

We congratulate the three newly ordained:  Deacons Carlos Medina, O.S.A.; Richie Mercado, O.S.A.; and Joseph Aloysius Murray, O.S.A.  Please pray for them along their final months toward the priesthood.  Enjoy the video above compiled from the day they were all ordained!

Got questions for the newly ordained?  We'd love to hear them!  Post them in the comments below!
