We have good news to share with you from a very eventful June. Over the past few weeks the Augustinians of North America have had three Ordinations, a Solemn Profession of Vows, and two Installations of Prior Provincials!
On June 15, 2018 the Augustinians of the Villanova Province welcomed in a new priest with the ordination of Fr. Bryan Kerns, O.S.A. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church. Fr. Bryan, age 28, is a graduate of the Augustinian Bonner High School and Villanova University, both of which guided his path of discernment. “The friars in both places modeled commitment to God, to each other, and to all those whom they served,” Fr. Kerns said.

On the West Coast, Br. Maxime Villeneuve, OSA followed up his graduation from the masters program at Catholic Theological Union in May with his solemn profession of vows on Monday, June 18. The proceeding Saturday, June 23, Fr. Philip Yang, O.S.A. was ordained to the priesthood and Br. Maxime was ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Daniel Turley, O.S.A., of the Chulucanas Diocese in Peru.

Lastly, both the Eastern and Midwest Province celebrated the installation of their Prior Provincials in June. The Prior Provincial serve as the head of the Province—a geographical subsection of the global Order of Augustinians—and is elected by his fellow friars to serve a four-year term. In the Eastern Province, Fr. Michael DiGregorio, O.S.A., was re-elected to his second term as Provincial, while in the Midwest the friars selected a new Provincial in Fr. Anthony B. Pizzo, O.S.A..
